U.S. Senate Youth Program accepting applications

Advertiser Staff

U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye and U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Akaka have opened the selection process for the United States Senate Youth Program.

Two Hawaii high school juniors and seniors will be selected to join 102 other delegates from March 6 to 14, 2010 for the 48th Annual Washington Week. The leadership education program allows the delegates to be spent time in Washington, D.C., to learn extensively about the U.S. Senate, and the federal government in general.

The experience includes tours of Capitol Hill, the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, the Supreme Court and other historic and educational sites.

The students will also receive $5,000 undergraduate college scholarships.
