Will.i.am would love to say "I told you so" to all the people who have bashed the Black Eyed Peas in the past, but he won't — even though the group just made history on the Billboard charts.

This week the foursome, who have had their share of critics, will have topped Billboard's Hot 100 singles charts for 20 consecutive weeks, the most ever by an act. "Boom Boom Pow" and the song that dislodged it, "I Gotta Feeling," have been at the top of the charts for 12 and eight weeks, respectively.

Though the band has had big hits over the years, "Boom Boom Pow" was their first No. 1 single.

COSBY STANDS UP AGAINST EDUCATION CUTS

Comedian Bill Cosby finds nothing funny about cutting school funding.

Public education can make the difference between success and failure in life for many children, and cutting school funding makes the task more difficult, Cosby said yesterday at a packed rally at the Capitol in Harrisburg, Pa.

"No more cuts!" Cosby declared at the beginning and end of a short speech that was part of a celebration marking the steady improvements in Pennsylvania students' test scores in math and reading.

HARVARD, PRINCETON TOP COLLEGE RANKINGS

Perennial contenders Harvard and Princeton share the top spot in the latest edition of the U.S. News & World Report university rankings. Williams is the No. 1 liberal arts college while Dartmouth takes the commitment to undergraduate teaching category.

The latest edition of the contentious but closely followed "America's Best Colleges" appears online and in print today.

Meanwhile, the American Council of Trustees and Alumni awarded A's to five schools: West Point, Texas A&M, University of Texas, University of Arkansas and City University of New York-Brooklyn College.

ACTA also not-so-gently mocked core courses — offerings like Wesleyan University's "Physics for Future Presidents" and Stanford's "Ki ho'alu: The New Renaissance of a Hawaiian Musical Tradition."

JOEL'S HAMPTON HOMES UP FOR SALE

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel is selling a pair of adjacent homes in the Hamptons for $35 million after a split from third wife Katie Lee Joel.

The bigger of the two homes once belonged to the late "Jaws" actor, Roy Scheider. Joel bought it for his newlywed wife in 2004. He also purchased a bungalow on adjacent property in 2007. Real estate agent Biana Stepanian says the larger home is selling for $22.5 million and the bungalow is selling for $12.5 million.

LONGORIA PARKER TO ACT EN ESPA—OL

Actress Eva Longoria Parker will act in Spanish for the first time in a Mexican film about kidnapping.

Film producer Leopoldo Gout says the "Desperate Housewives" actress' character will be crucial to solving the mystery at the heart of the film, which is called "Day of Grace." The movie is being filmed in Mexico City.
