Waianae man arrested as robbery suspect

Advertiser Staff

A 32 year-old Waianae man was arrested Wednesday as a suspect in a robbery that allegedly took place June 1.

A 33-year-old woman told police she was at a home in Waianae where her daughter lives when the suspect showed up and began arguing with her.
She said the argument escalated and at one point, the man ripped her earrings from her ears and took items out of her purse before running from the area.
Police did not say what the relationship was, if any, between the suspect and the woman who filed the complaint.
Police located the suspect yesterday at a home on Kapaekahi Street and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery, second-degree theft, violating a temporary restraining order and a firearms infraction.
