A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today for the summit of Haleakala, the National Weather Service said.

A high pressure far northeast of Maui is producing strong winds from the east-southeast over the summit of Haleakala.
Winds near or above the advisory level of 30 mph are expected through this afternoon. Driving can be difficult in this weather, especially for higher vehicles.
