Foodland to close Aina Haina store for 5 months during renovation

Advertiser Staff

Foodland Super Market said it will close its Aina Haina store on Sunday for about five months for a complete renovation.

The 25,000-square-foot store is scheduled to reopen in February as “Foodland Farms,” the first of the company’s new store format on Oahu featuring more gourmet and organic products.
Foodland Aina Haina employees will be temporarily transferred to other Foodland and Sack N Save locations on O’ahu during the remodel. When the new Foodland Farms store opens, approximately 25 additional new positions will be added, the company said.
Foodland Farms will have an added emphasis on perishables and prepared foods, along with existing Foodland programs, such as the weekly Maika’i specials and rewards. Locally grown produce and other products will be highlighted throughout the store.
In addition, a variety of ready-to-eat entrees, and fresh, made-to-order specialties will be available. R. Field Wine Company, currently only at Foodland Beretania and Foodland Kailua on Oahu, will be included, along with a gelato bar featuring Hawaii-made gelato and sorbetto.
