The O'ahu Songwriters Group is making its Atherton debut tonight, promising a night of original songs, lyrical poetry and talk story.

The "Songwriters in the Round" event follows a format made famous in Nashville, Tenn., with barefoot bob and five performing songwriters sitting in a semicircle on stage taking turns singing, telling stories and bantering with each other and the audience. The other five performers are Ruth Shiroma Foster, Ev Fox, Brad Mossman, Otis Schaper and Jenna Tague.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Performing Arts Studio. Tickets are $25 general, $20 for HPR members and $15 for students. Visit www.hawaiipublicradio.org for more information or call 955-8821.
