Singer Seal (of "Kiss From a Rose" fame), his model wife Heidi Klum and their kids houseguested at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and stopped by Newt in the Village; Seal and oldest son Henry left as proud owners of Panama hats. Seal's hat size, like his persona, is impressive at 7‡, said Jim Tomasi of Newt. While trying on hats, Seal and Klum serenaded each other with a sweet duet with lines that go, "Where did you get that hat, Henry? Isn't it a jolly one! I would like a hat just like that, Henry." ... The family was spotted at Windward Mall, as well. ...

While here for concerts, members of America quietly dined at Azure at the Royal Hawaiian hotel. ...

At Kona Village, PGA pro golfer Tom Watson had a round of stand-up paddleboarding in the waters off the hotel. Watson was the second-place finisher at the British Open; at 58, he would have been the oldest pro had he won. Thus the Island respite was just the tonic to ease the duel in England. ...

WHEE, THE PEOPLE: CW's "Vampire Diaries," a soapsudser with gorgeous and handsome young folk (are there any other kind in vampireland?), counts among its stars Ian Somerlader, formerly Boone Carlyle of "Lost," who may have found his next hit show. CW has kicked off its season early to suck in viewers ahead of the customary fall launch of new shows. Next up? "The Tournament," in which he plays an assassin. ...

Bruce Williams, the most famous of the naked waiters at the Dunes, is back in town, and renewed ties with Jack Cione, whose "What Do You Say to a Naked Waiter?" book about that phenom is going for $488 on Amazon.com. ...

Cione also reports the deaths of several show-biz vets here: jazz pianist Kelly Green, who used to play at the Little Dipper at The Clouds in Kapahulu; Jerry Blain, a bandleader at the old Dunes and Forbidden City; and Lenny Sampson, who did a Seattle talk show after working as an emcee at the Forbidden City. ...

TV producer-director Phil Ar-none is up and about, following knee surgery. He was picking up meds at Longs Hawai'i Kai the other day. ...
