'Iolani School sophomore Lorens Chan made eight birdies in shooting a final-round 5-under-par 66 yesterday to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the Oahu Country Club Men's Invitational at the Nu'uanu Valley course.

Chan finished with a three-round total of 8-under 205 to become the youngest ever winner of the event in posting the most lopsided victory in its 46-year history.

Chan, who beat runner-up Ryan Perez (70) by 13 strokes, is a few months younger than Tadd Fujikawa was when he won in 2006.

Jonathan Ota (73—220) finished third, Kalena Preus (74—221) fourth, with Brandan Kop (76—222) and senior flight winner Phil Anamizu (76—222) sharing fifth.
