Big Island firefighters are investigating the cause of a 12-acre brush fire that was controlled this morning in Kau.

The fire was contained by natural fire breaks bordering Ninole Loop and the Punaluu Golf Course, firefighters said today. By 5 a.m. it was under control and no structures were threatened.
