TONIGHT'S MUST SEES

“WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE: THE MOVIE,” 8-10 P.M., DISNEY CHANNEL

Like many teens, Alex (Selena Gomez) grumbles at her mom and wishes her parents had never met. Unlike most, she's has a magic wand at the time; complications follow.
This movie starts with what the “Wizards” series does best – broad sight gags, based on the kids' imperfect magic skills. After Alex's wish comes true, however, the film changes tone.
There are bits of adventure, family bonding and Puerto Rican beauty. It's all silly, but harmless fun.

“JOCKEYS,” 6 AND 8 P.M., ANIMAL PLANET

Here are two jockeys at opposite points in their careers.
Joe Talamo is trying to establish himself. Only 18 when this was filmed, he grasped for the top levels of the jockey world; named the best apprentice of 2007, he was hoping to rea ch the Kentucky Derby.
Aaron Gryder, 20 years older than Talamo, had already been in three Kentucky Derbies. Now – trying to shed a devastating Breeders' Cup loss – he enters the Dubai World Cup, with its $6-million purse.
We also see Iggy Puglisi, trying to come back from injuries that cost him two years. These are three fascinating stories, one of which includes an amazing win.
