Mixed martial arts: Duffee makes UFC debut with 7-second KO

Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. — Todd Duffee took just seven seconds to knock out Tim Hague in his UFC debut tonight.

Duffee's fight surpassed UFC's previous record of eight seconds set twice before. The heavyweight fight was one of the preliminary fights at UFC 102.

Only half of the six preliminary bouts went a full three rounds.

Among the other winners were Evan Dunham, who scored a hard-fought split decision over Marcus Aurelio in a lightweight bout, and Mark Munoz with a narrow split decision over Nick Catone.

Heavyweight Mike Russow scored an unanimous decision over Justin McCully, Gabriel Gonzaga defeated Chris Tuchscherer, and Aaron Simpson defeated Ed Herman when Herman was unable to continue because of a knee injury.
