Starwood lends hand to hospital: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii supports Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in the hospital's 2009 centennial of pediatric care by donating a portion of every package sold in Hawai'i or on the Mainland in its Endless Summer Escape campaign.

Starwood is also contributing 200,000 Starwood Preferred Guest "SPG" Starpoints as a grand prize in support of the Kapi'olani Story Project, a historic archive being compiled as part of the hospital's centennial.

To enter, families who have been touched by Kapi'olani and its predecessor, Kauikeolani Children's Hospital, may post their story at www.KapiolaniStoryProject.org. The award is equivalent to a five-night stay at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort and Spa annually for the next four years.

Or, 200,000 SPG Starpoints could be used for a three-week stay at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa or to buy 26 bottles of White Star champagne from the Sheraton Waikiki.

The winner will be selected Sept. 30. Endless Summer Escape rates start at $109 a night with no minimum stay and includes one category room upgrade; early check-in and late check-out; free daily parking and a 25 percent restaurant discount.
