Five company-owned McDonald's restaurants on Kauaçi have been sold to the former operations manager of McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii, Frankie Chung, and his wife, Darlene, who served as an operations consultant for the company.

The sale leaves Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp. with 25 company-owned stores in Hawaiçi. Franchisees own and operate another 53, including the Kauaçi locations.
