Community forum to talk about Turtle Bay's future

Advertiser Staff

The second in a series of community forums about the future of Turtle Bay will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Kahuku High & Intermediate School cafeteria.

The session includes updates and remarks by invited speakers, followed by a question-and-answer period.

The forum is sponsored by Keep the North Shore Country, a group that is working to require Kuilima Development to submit a supplemental environmental study for its proposed expansion of Turtle Bay Resort.

In 1986, a 236-acre parcel was rezoned from agricultural to urban use and a plan was proposed to build five new hotels with 3,500 rooms and condominium units and four public parks on a total of 880 acres at Turtle Bay.
