Gas prices hold steady throughout state

The average price of a gallon of regular gas in Hawai'i held steady at $3.36 a gallon this week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

While the statewide average price was unchanged from a week ago, it was up 7 cents a gallon from the same time last month.

In Honolulu, the average price was $3.25 a gallon, unchanged from a week ago.

The average price in Hilo was $3.42, up 2 cents from a week ago.

In Wailuku, the average price was $3.72, down 1 cent from the previous week.

AAA does not publish gas prices for Kaua'i.

MCDONALD'S SELLS 5 KAUA'I RESTAURANTS

Five company-owned McDonald's restaurants on Kaua'i have been sold to the former operations manager of McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii, Frankie Chung, and his wife, Darlene, who served as an operations consultant for the company.

The sale leaves Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's Corp. with 25 company-owned stores in Hawai'i. Franchisees own and operate another 53.

TS TO OPEN RESTAURANT AT KA'ANAPALI SPA

TS Restaurants, which operates 12 eateries in Hawai'i and California, will open Duke's Beach House later this month at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa in Ka'anapali.

The restaurant chain includes Duke's Waikiki and Hula Grill on O'ahu, and Kimo's, Leilani's and Hula Grill on Maui.

Honua Kai Resort & Spa is an apartment-style hotel featuring studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom suites with full kitchens, beach and mountain views and, on the grounds, a network of pools, hot tubs, bridges, a waterslide, waterfalls and fountains.
