Two new boutiques selling new and gently used clothing have opened on each side of the Pali.

Jacqueline Trinh loves designer clothes, but not the price tags. She started collecting new and gently used fashions from family and friends and put 'em on Craigslist. Now she has her own boutique, Glam Rok, in the Hee Hing Building at 449 Kapahulu Ave.

Targeting women ages 18 to 40, Trinh buys, sells and consigns clothes for the trend-seeker. She carries brands such as Bebe, Juicy Couture and Ed Hardy, as well as designer denim from Frankie B., Rock & Republic and Citizens for Humanity, among others. Call 732-6278 for more details.

On the Windward side, Lilian McDonnell has just opened Kailua Verde Boutique & Consignment at 111 Hekili St.

In addition to gently used designer clothing, the store carries jewelry, handbags, belts and shoes, as well as art by local artists. Kailua Girl fashions and made-in-Hawai'i, environmentally friendly and recycled items are also sold in the little boutique. A Burberry suit, Coach handbag and designer denim by True Religion and 7 for All Mankind were on the racks when we visited.

For information, call 261-6190 or visit www.kailuaverdeboutique.com.

CITRON TRUNK SHOW

Calling all Citron fans (and there are many in Honolulu): Calista at Kahala Mall is hosting a trunk show of Citron separates from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow. It offers a sneak peek and preordering of the 2010 spring collection. For more information, call 735-6830.

ROCK SHOP AT CORAL LOFT

Popular pop-up boutique Rock Shop will be popping up from 3 to 8 tonight, in Coral Loft, 1033A Smith St., Chinatown. Featured designers are Bware, DORK, Genuine Guava, Guava Shop, Insight, Michele Leong, Sierra Dew and, of course, Anne Au's Rock Shop itself. For more information, call 258-2900.

LEATHER GOODS FEATURE ART OF PEGGY CHUN

Beloved Honolulu artist Peggy Chun lives on in many ways. Add a new one: Two of her charming paintings are now available on a line of leather goods. Through a collaboration with Paula Sussex of the Sandal Tree stores and leather goods company ICON, Chun's "Banana Patch Heaven" and "Boo in a Bowl" are now imprinted on handbags, small leather goods and, coming soon, shoes.

The images are hand-printed on premium natural leather to ensure longevity. Chun is the third local artist to appear on ICON goods. Al Furtado and Rosalie Prussing preceded her. Prices range from $45 to $250.

The Peggy Chun line will premiere from 6 to 10 tonight in the Peggy Chun Gallery on Nu'uanu Avenue. Call 545-4810 for information. After tonight, the line will be sold exclusively in Sandal Tree stores on Maui, Kaua'i and the Big Island.
