Electric Light parade will close streets, affect parking

The annual Honolulu City Lights Public Workers Electric Light Parade tomorrow will mean street closures and special parking restrictions Downtown.

The parade starts at 6 p.m. at King and River streets, continues on King past Honolulu Hale and ends at Kawaiaha'o Street. Marching bands and some vehicles will continue through the Alapai/South/Kapi'olani intersection and park on South King Street between Punchbowl and Alapai streets for viewing until 8 p.m.

There will be no street parking on several streets, including Punchbowl, King and Kawaiaha'o.

Also, city bus schedules will be affected by the parade route, and some stops will not be serviced temporarily. Riders should check www.thebus.org or call 848-5555 for information.
