According to a police report:

The man was on a Harley Davidson bike one and one-half miles west of the tunnel heading townbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control off the bike. The bike overturned and the man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown onto the roadway.

The motorcycle then collided with a pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old man from Kailua who was not harmed.
