Floral items allowed at Punchbowl gravesites starting Dec. 18

Floral items including potted plants and artificial flowers can be placed at gravesites in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl for Christmas starting Dec. 18 and will be removed on Jan. 4, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

But all items placed before Dec. 18 will be removed.
Prohibited items include Christmas trees of any size, permanent plantings, statues, vigil lights, any glass objects and any other commemorative items such photos, toys, balloons and stuffed animals.
Acceptable floral items may not be secured to headstones or markers and metal hooks may not be used, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
