High-surf warning extended to Maui, Oahu and Molokai

The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf warning for all north-facing shores in anticipation of the surf increasing to 15 to 25 feet with 30-foot occasional sets today and building to 30 to 40 feet with occasional 50-foot sets tomorrow.

West-facing shores will see surf 12 to 20 feet,building to 15 to 25 feet with occasional 30-foot surf tomorrow.
The warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says the warning levels will be exceeded well into the second half of the week. West- and east-facing shores will see very large surf wrapping into the area as well through the week.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. A high-surf advisory is issued when breaking wave action poses a threat to life and property within the surf zone.
