The Rising Melody Original Music Showcase, a social music mixer aimed to generate awareness and unity amongst Hawaii’s top songwriters, musicians, and performing artists, takes place from 8 to 11 p.m. tomorrow at Level 4 Waikiki.
Over 30 local musicians are participating in the event, billed as a sampler of Hawaii’s original music.
The event is being structured as a variety show, at three hours long, with eight different acts. Slam poet Kealoha of HawaiiSlam and See of Ong King Art Center are hosts, with live music by The Quadraphonix, Kings of Spade, Pressure Drop, Black Square, Guidance, Roothub, Jaena Shimabuku and Sabrina Velazquez, and DJ Mr. Nick.
The event, for those 21 and over takes place at Level 4 Waikiki, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, 2233 Kalakaua Ave. Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door.
