Advertiser Staff

Punahou sophomores Tama Fukuyama and Maya Grossman have organized a fun run/walk to benefit the Institute for Human Services.

The Homeward Bound 5K will be held at Mänoa Valley District Park on Dec. 20 at 7 a.m. Fukuyama and Grossman are members of the Punahou cross country team.

"After volunteering with IHS, we wanted to do more so we had the idea to organize a race to raise money and more awareness about the organization," Fukuyama said of the organization that helps the homeless and at-risk people. "We're thankful for all of our sponsors and hope we can get a lot of runners to participate."

The entry fee is $15 if postmarked by Thursday, $25 at packet pick-up on Friday and Saturday, and $30 on the day of the event. There will be refreshments and entertainment by Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole.
