Magical meal for good cause Saturday

Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii is selling tickets for its 23rd Breakfast with Santa, happening Saturday at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i.

In addition to Santa, more than 20 costumed characters will be at the event, including Star Wars Stormtroopers, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Elmo, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, the Hamburglar and Cheeseasarus Rex.

The breakfast is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and lunch is from noon to 2 p.m. Donations of $20 per person include a meal, a photo with Santa, clowns, face-painting, games, crafts, magicians and a gift. Children under 2 who do not need a seat or meal get in for free.

BUFF MAMA BOOT CAMP

BEGINNERS CAN TURN OVER NEW LEAF

Just in time to tackle New Year's resolutions, Dawn Quiocho of Buff Mama Inc. is starting a Beginners Boot Camp. It includes an outdoor mix of cardio and strength-building exercises as well as nutrition assistance, food journaling and shopping trips to learn what constitutes a healthy shopping basket at Costco.

The group will meet starting in early January at Magic Island at 6 a.m. or 6:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Cost is $240 for four weeks. Information and registration: www.buffmama.org.
