“Once again, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine have made a decisive statement in the national volleyball arena that Hawai‘i remains a force to contend with," Lingle said in her statement.
“During the semifinal regional, the Wahine played with heart, enthusiasm and determination, as they have throughout the season, with scrappy defense, powerful hitting and inspiring plays at the net.
“These outstanding athletes, led by legendary Head Coach Dave Shoji and his dedicated coaching staff, continue to bring tremendous pride to the University of Hawai‘i and our entire state.
“Whether in person or in spirit, all the people of Hawai‘i will be in Tampa, Florida this week cheering on the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine with much aloha and admiration as they vie for their fourth NCAA Division I title.
