Coach: Jerritt Elliott 263-75, 10th year

Numbers: Ranked second all year ... won last 10 ... only loss at Iowa State Nov. 4 ... sixth final four and second straight ... 57-22 in NCAA postseason ... 2-10 against Hawai'i, with wins in 1988 national final and second week of this season
Faces: All-American Destinee Hooker (6-4 Sr.) is four-time NCAA high jump champ, Big 12 Player of Year and 2008-09 Big 12 Female Athlete of Year ... Texas now running 6-2 offense with All-American Ashley Engle (6-3 Sr.) setting and passing, after Engle had a triple-double against Hawai'i Sept. 5 ... Juliann Faucette (6-2 Jr.) was first-team All-American as freshman and third-team this year ... seniors Hooker, Engle and Heather Kisner are 108-16, best winning percentage in school history
Top 50 nationally: Hooker is fifth in kills (4.95), 18th in aces (0.46) and 27th in hitting (.362). As a team, Texas is second in hitting (.341), fifth in blocks (3.03), 13th in kills (14.54) and 18th in assists (13.32).
Elliott (age 41) on opposing coaches: "These are the ones that have grown the sport. These are the coaches that were basically working for free when the sport started out. ... When I was growing up watching volleyball I had a passion for it and always admired how well they coached their teams in the big games and how successful they were. I was just trying to be a sponge."
