Tabitha Love (6-6 Fr.) was MOP at Minneapolis Regional, averaging 5.38 kills and hitting .402 ... USC transfer Taylor Carico (5-11 Sr.) is first-year setter and third-team All-American ... Libero Christine Tan (5-4 Sr.) is all-region and second in career digs.
Top 50 nationally: Gibbemeyer is 11th nationally in blocks (1.45) and hitting (.393), Carico 50th in assists (10.7). As a team, Minnesota is 11th in blocking (2.76), 25th in hitting (.256), 30th in assists (12.92) and 33rd in kills (13.93).
Hebert on history: "Dave and I were classmates at UCSB back in the day ... we've known each other for a long time, played against each other several times and have been friends for a long time. Russ Rose and I go back to the early '70s, when he was a student at George Williams, which no longer is even a college. When we see each other at tournaments, it's a grand, friendly feeling that we share. I don't know if it's unique to our sport, but the three of us have remained close friends for a long time. Jerritt is just way too young to be in that fraternity."
