1 killed, 1 critical, 4 others hurt in car-motorcycle collision in Aiea

Police inspect the wreckage of a motorcycle involved in a collision with a Toyota station wagon at the intersection of Iwaiwa Street and Halawa Heights Road.

A motorcyclist in his 20s was killed and a young boy was in critical condition tonight after a car-motorcycle collision in Aiea.

Four other young people were injured.

Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the accident happened at 6:27 p.m. at Iwaiwa Street and Halawa Heights Road.

The boy under the age of 13, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to the trauma center in critical condition. A boy under the age of 10 and a teenage girl went to the trauma center in serious condition.

Two other children in the car were taken to a hospital, their condition was not known.

No other details were immediately available.
