8- to 12-foot surf expected for north-facing shores today

North facing shores will see surf of eight to 12 feet today, increasing to 10 to 14 feet tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf along west facing shores will be four to six feet today, increasing to heights of six to 10 feet tomorrow.
East-facing shores are forecast to see swells of seven to 10 feet, dropping to four to seven feet tomorrow.
South-facing shores are forecast to see wave heights of two feet or less through tomorrow.
The north-northeast swell will continue to drop through Tuesday. A series of increasingly larger northwest swells is expected through this week, with surf possibly reaching warning levels the night before Christmas.
