Kauai police arrest man after high-speed chase

Advertiser Staff

Kauai police arrested a Kapaa man on multiple charges after a high-speed chase through Lihue.

Timothy Geis, 37, was arrested Monday for resisting an order to stop his motor vehicle, reckless driving, operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant, and driving without a valid license.
In addition, Geis was issued citations for several traffic violations including disregarding a stop sign, exceeding the speed limit and disregarding a red traffic signal.
He was released after posting $1,250 bail.
The incident began at around 1:30 a.m., after Geis allegedly refused to pull over after an officer witnessed him speeding.
Police eventually had to set up a device on Wailua Bridge that blew out two of the tires on the car Geis was driving.
