Alfred Goo Akona, 61, of Honolulu, died Dec. 9, 2009. Born in Honolulu. Retired from the City & County of Honolulu. Survived by mother, Hazel; brother, Kenton; sister, Lynn Yamamoto; companion, Rosemarie Ponce. Visitation 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Diamond Head Mortuary; service 11:45 a.m.; burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park. No flowers. Casual attire. Arrangements by Diamond Head Mortuary.

Mabel Matsuko Gaspar, 77, of Ocean View, Hawaii, died Dec. 2, 2009. Born in Captain Cook, Hawaii. A baker's helper at Kona Bakery; also retired from Kona Hospital. Survived by son, John Jr.; daughters, Linda Sepulvida and Sarah Dinson; brothers, Toshio, Kiyoshi and Takashi Shirai; sisters, Mildred Arai and Shizue Asato; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday at South Kona Assembly of God Church. Burial 1 p.m. Dec. 28 at Kona Memorial Park. Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii.

Gladys Y.H. Lam, 88, of Honolulu, died Dec. 15, 2009. Born in Canton, China. Retired M's Ranch House waitress. Adriana C. Reyes, 93, of Honolulu, died Dec. 5, 2009. Born in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. A homemaker. Elmer "Pete" Earl Siegal, 71, of Kailua, Kona, Hawaii, died Dec. 5, 2009. Born in Sedalia, Mo. A U.S. Navy and Vietnam War veteran; member Disabled American Veterans. Survived by wife, Judy; stepdaughters, Theresa Watkins, Amy Stafford and Stacy Lawson; three grandchildren. Services to be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Hospice of Kona.
