University of Hawaii to start new transfer procedures

Associated Press

HONOLULU — The University of Hawaii system has unveiled two initiatives to serve students who transfer between the two-year and four-year campuses.

The new automatic admission will admit a graduate from one of the seven community colleges to one of the three baccalaureate campuses.
For community college students who transfer before receiving a degree, the reverse transfer procedure will lead to a credit review to determine if they have earned their associate’s degree.
UH said Monday that the procedural changes are to be implemented in the spring.
University officials say the initiatives were proposed by UH-Manoa and enthusiastically endorsed by the other campuses.
