Lei-making master offers 3 workshops

The Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation will present three lei-making demonstrations/workshops taught by one of Hawai‘i’s premier lei-making masters, Brian Choy.
The workshops (these are not hands-on classes) are free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to enter the Lei Day Contest on May 1 at Kapi‘olani Park.
The first workshop (limited to 40 participants) is set for 9:30 a.m.-noon Jan. 30 in Kamehameha Community Park, 1400 Kalihi St. For additional information, call Carrie Leong at 832-7819
The second: 9:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 6 (limited to the first 40 participants) at Wahiawa Botanical Gardens, 1396 California Ave. For additional information, call Ka‘iulani Kauahi at 768-3041.
