Obit: Retired British boxing manager Terry Lawless dies

Associated Press

MARBELLA, Spain — Terry Lawless, the boxing manager who guided four British fighters to world titles, died Thursday. He was 76.

The London-born Lawless died in a Spanish hospital following gall bladder surgery.
John H. Stracey, Maurice Hope, Jim Watt and Charlie Magri won world titles under Lawless’ management. Frank Bruno and Joe Calzaghe also fought under him.
Lawless said after retiring that he wanted to be remembered as a manager who tried to prevent his fighters from being hurt.
