Christmas Day means no Honolulu trash pickup

Advertiser Staff

City refuse pickup service will not be picked up on Christmas or New Year’s Day, the only two days of the year municipal collection is not done.

Residents on twice-a-week pickup who normally get service on Fridays are asked to hold their items for the next scheduled day.

Neighborhoods who are on the new three-cart curbside recycling program who normally get collection on Fridays are asked to follow different instructions. Those who have their gray refuse bins regularly collected on Fridays are asked to leave their gray carts curbside from Saturday and those will be collected on the next one or two collection days (excluding Sunday). Those who normally have their recycling days on Fridays are asked to simply hold their mixed recyclables and green waste until the next scheduled pickup.
