Worker in critical condition after falling off UH building

Advertiser Staff

A construction worker who fell about 30 feet off the roof of a building on the University of Hawai'i at Mänoa campus yesterday — and who may have fallen through the roof of a second structure — was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics were called about 7:25 a.m. to 2530 Maile Way near Sakamaki Hall.

Cheplic said the worker appears to be in his 50s.
