Fireworks blamed on brushfire at Pacific Palisades

Advertiser Staff

Fireworks caused a brush fire in Pacific Palisades last night.

According to HFD Capt. Earle Kealoha:

About 15 firefighters extinguished a brush fire that was believed to have been the result of aerial fireworks.

The fire scorched an area about the size of one-half a football field in a steep gulch about 100 feet below several homes on Ahakapu Street in the Pacific Palisades subdivision in Pearl City.

The call came in at about 9:15 p.m. and the fire was extinguished at 11:43 p.m.

There were no injuries and no homes were threatened.
