President Obama is paying a visit to Oahu’s North Shore today.
He arrived at the Mokuleia home of high school friend Bobby Titcomb this afternoon following a drive that began via the scenic H-3 freeway, past Aloha Stadium and Pearl Harbor, then Schofield Barracks and up to Dillingham Air Field.

Some of the cars that had pulled over to make way for the motorcade honked or waved at the vehicles, as did some in oncoming traffic, accoring to a media pool report from B.J. Reyes of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
As the vehicles wound through the rural north shore on Farrington Highway, past a handful of beach parks, bystanders waved and took pictures of the vehicles.
After the 58-minute drive, the president’s motorcade arrived at the beachfront home and Obama’s black SUV pulled into the driveway out of view of the pool press.
He is said to be there with family and friends and will be there for an indefinite period of time.
Obama began his day, as usual, with a morning workout at Marine Corps Base Hawaii's "Semper Fit" gym.
A media pool report said reporters were told first lady Michelle Obama was also there.
A few dozen people gathered around a barricade set up in front of the gym to snap pictures and see the president.
The president's motorcade left his Kailua compound just before 7:30 a.m., as the sun began peeking through overcast skies, offering pool photographers a rainbow.
The workout lasted about an hour and the motorcade returned to the Obamas' vacation rental.
The Advertiser will be updating its homepage throughout the day as pool reports on the first family's vacation activities come in.
