Man wanted for questioning in shopping center robbery

Hawai'i County police are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted for questioning in connection with a Dec. 23 robbery at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.

Police would like to speak to Daniel Jordan Mills, 19, whose last known address was in Pahoa. He is described as 5 feet 8 and 140 pounds. with black hair and brown eyes.

Two other youths, Ocean Hegent, 18, of Paradise Park and a 14-year-old boy, were arrested after officers responded to a report of a robbery at a kiosk in the shopping center.

Both have been charged with first-degree robbery; Hegent has also been charged with second-degree theft.

Hegent's bail was set at $5,000. The juvenile was turned over to the jurisdiction of Family Court.

Police ask that anyone with information on Mills' whereabouts call the police nonemergency line at 808-935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 in Hilo or 808-329-8181 in Kona.
