Salvation Army to open shelter for the homeless

The Salvation Army will open its new transitional homeless shelter today in Manoa.

The shelter is for 12 women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, and their children. It has two brick bungalows, each with six bedrooms, and shared living and dining facilities.

A dedication ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the shelter, 2950 Manoa Road.
