The Department of Land and Natural Resources has added Moloka'i to its itinerary for a series of informational meetings to discuss possible regulations for parrotfish (uhu), goatfish (weke) and jacks (ulua and papio).

The agency is considering minimum-size rules to protect fish that may be at risk of being overharvested. The Moloka'i meeting will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 10 at Kulana 'Oiwi in Kaunakakai. It will be held in conjunction with the Governor's Moloka'i Community Advisory Council.

Other meetings already announced are today at Kealakehe High School in Kailua, Kona; Feb. 5 at Kawananakoa Middle School in Honolulu; Feb. 12 at Waimalu Elementary School in 'Aiea; and Feb. 19 at Wai'anae Public Library. All meetings are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Meetings already were held on Maui and Kaua'i and in Hilo, Kona and Windward O'ahu.
