KAHUKU
Library offers new and ongoing free programs

Kahuku Public & School Library is hosting free programs about whales, reducing tension, doing taxes and more.

The Kahuku Book Club will discuss "Cellist of Sarajevo" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The book was inspired by cellist Vedran Smailovic, who in 1992 performed in a bombed-out Sarajevo square in memory of 22 people killed in a mortar attack. This is suitable for adults.

Alisa Davis, with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will discuss humpback whales from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17. This program is suitable for all ages.

Judith Godwin, a certified practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu, will share information about the ancient Japanese technique of using a network of energetic pathways in the body to bring balance, release deep tension and restore harmony.

The library is also hosting tax preparation help for seniors and low-to-middle-income families on Thursdays through April 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Finally, each Wednesday the library has Keiki Storytime at 10 a.m. and After School Club at 12:45 p.m., which includes movies, crafts and board games.
