MCC campuses hosting sessions on financial aid

Advertiser Staff

Maui County parents and students can get a jump-start on the financial aid application process at College Goal Sunday events on Sunday.

Sessions are scheduled for 1 p.m. at Maui Community College in Kahului and, for the first time, at MCC sites in Hana and on Moloka'i and Lana'i.

College Goal Sunday is sponsored in Hawai'i by the Pacific Financial Aid Association and the Hawai'i Association for College Admission Counseling, with funding from the Lumina Foundation for Education, USA Funds, GEAR UP Hawaii and American Savings Bank.

Free assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will be provided. The FAFSA is required by most colleges in the nation. Those planning to attend the sessions should bring their 2008 federal tax return and W-2 form or other 2008 income and benefits information.

Activities to occupy younger children will be provided by Na Pua Noe'au at the Kahului location only.

For more information, visit www.cgshawaii.org or contact the MCC Financial Aid Office at 808-984-3277.
