High surf advisory revised for Niihau to Maui

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has revised an earlier high surf advisory and now says to expect surf of 16 to 20 feet on the north-facing shores of Niihau to Maui.

West-facing shores of those islands will likely see surf of 12 to 16 feet, the Weather Service said.

The advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.

The high surf is expected to peak this afternoon and evening and to decrease over night.

The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Elsewhere on Oahu today, look for surf of 3 to 6 feet along east-facing shores and 2 to 4 feet along south-facing shores.

Outlook through Wednesday, Feb. 11: The current northwest swell will slowly subside Saturday through Tuesday. Strong trade winds may produce advisory-level surf along east-facing shores starting early next week.
