Pro Bowl extends blackout deadline another day

Advertiser Staff

The NFL extended the TV blackout deadline another day to 11:30 a.m. Saturday for Sunday's Pro Bowl All-Star Game at Honolulu's Aloha Stadium, it was announced today.

By NFL policy, NFL games, including the Pro Bowl, must be sold out in order for the game to be televised in the local area.

The special extension was granted due to movement in ticket sales. As of yesterday, about 2,000 tickets remained. The game, which is being played in Hawai'i for the 30th consecutive year, has been a sellout every year at the 50,000-seat Aloha Stadium facility.

The Pro Bowl is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, and will be televised by NBC.

Ticket prices start at $45. Fans may purchase 2009 Pro Bowl game tickets in a variety of ways:

  • By phone — Call Ticketmaster toll free at 877-750-4400;

  • Online — www.ticketmaster.com;

  • In person at the Aloha Stadium Box Office, the Blaisdell Box Office and at Macy's.
