KAHULUI
Free concert by Willie K, Hawaii Youth Symphony

Members of the Hawaii Youth Symphony will take the stage with Willie K for a free concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater.

The organization's Youth Symphony I, a 93-member orchestra of students from 22 high schools on O'ahu and Kaua'i, will be under the baton of music director Henry Miyamura. They will be joined by eight members of the Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, call the Hawaii Youth Symphony at 941-9706, check online at www.HiYouthSymphony.org, or call the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 808-242-7469.

On Feb. 17, the Youth Symphony I and Willie K will team up again for two free Listen & Learn concerts for Maui schoolchildren at the Castle Theater. The 45-minute educational concerts introduce students to orchestral music, instruments and proper concert behavior, and include sing-alongs and opportunities for students to conduct the orchestra.
