Pac-Five beats Kapa'a to win girls Division II state soccer title

Advertiser Staff

The Pac-Five girls soccer team defeated Kapa'a, 1-0, in the JN Automotive Group Girls Division II Soccer State Championship game at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

The game went all the way to penalty kicks, which the Wolfpack won,4-2, to determine the winner.

"We get lucky sometimes," said Pac-Five coach Eddie Wong self-deprecatingly. "The players did so well. Because we were in Division I last year we didn't get to states, so when we moved back to Division II our goal was to get back to states again."

Pac-Five also won the title in 2007.
