An HPD officer was injured in a fight this morning in Waikiki, when a man gouged him in the eye.

A police report said the officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Seaside Avenue at 7:10 a.m.

When he arrived he was talking to the woman involved in the dispute when the 41-year-old man involved jumped on the officer's back and gouged him in the right eye.

The officer was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in good condition.

The man was arrested on suspicion of assault against a police officer.
