The Honolulu medical examiner's office has identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by a tour bus Friday night in McCully as Richard Tasaka, of Honolulu.

Police said that Tasaka, 63, was in a crosswalk about 7:30 p.m. when he was hit while trying to cross Beretania Street at McCully Street.

He was heading mauka when he was struck by a Roberts Hawaii bus making a left turn from McCully onto Beretania, police said.

Tasaka was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, and later died there.
