Noelani garage sale today

"Not Your Ordinary Garage Sale" is a particularly apt name, considering it's in the Noelani Elementary School cafeteria in Manoa, not a garage.

Sure, traditional garage sale items will be sold: clothing, toys, books, household items and jewelry, all priced to reflect the economic downturn.

But this year the Hawaii Chapter of World Wings International fundraiser also has a special boutique with products from all over the world: Japanese kimono and obi, vases, Asian slippers, artwork, fine fabrics and more. The former Pan Am flight attendants who founded the philanthropic organization picked up these unique souvenirs decades ago during layovers in exotic cities.

The sale, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., will benefit the St. Francis Hospice.
