Weather: Sunny with a few isolated showers

A strong high pressure system far north of Hawaii will maintain moderate to fresh trade winds through most of the week, the National Weather Service said.

Weak frontal remnants will pass over the islands Wednesday causing a slight increase in the trade showers, forecasters said.

A large low pressure area will move into position far northeast of the state Wednesday and cause trade winds to become northeasterly during the second half of the week.

More typical trade winds will resume late in the weekend into early next week.

Today...Sunny with isolated showers. Breezy. Highs 72 to 81. East winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Breezy. Lows 63 to 71. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Breezy. Highs around 78. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday Night...Mostly clear. Breezy. Lows 63 to 71. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph.

Thursday...Sunny...breezy. Highs around 79. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph.

Thursday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Breezy. Lows 62 to 70. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
